If you like Superman movies that we already have, then I imagine you have the best chance of being entertained by Man of Steel. That’s really the nicest thing I can say about it, and I say it because when you get right down to it, most of the considerable mistakes that made Man of Steel downright unbearable for me were made in those, too. In that respect, it’s really just the latest installment of The Adventures of Terrible Movie Superman.

The only real difference is that Zack Snyder somehow manages to do it in a far more drab, cynical and ultimately tone-deaf way. And considering that the last attempt was Superman Returns, that’s saying something.

So! I finally got hooked on Doctor. Who! I find it’s a great  and imaginative way to tell any kind of story, a funny idea to play with. It even changes the main character from time to time, allowing new points of view on the same universe.

Thinking of these things, I came up with some “possible” reincarnations of the Doctor of my own. I am a newbie in the Whovian universe, so maybe some ideas are too ridiculous  or have already been done, or maybe you just find them too extreme for Dr. Who. Sorry in advance for that! But anyway, I hope you find some of this funny at least.

THE TOUGH GUY

This Doctor has been to many places and ages, has met countless races and cultures… and didn’t like one bit of what he saw. This Doctor sees the dark side of the universe, the wars, the evil, the death that lurks everywhere, so has become an expert on liquors from every corner of the cosmos. Less imaginative and more practical than other doctors, the only thing he really needs to know is who to punch where to solve any problem. His most distinctive item is a pair of boots, made out of the glittering skin of an unknown creature he insists he killed barehanded in one of his journeys.

Although he’d rather travel alone, he ends up picking a young vivid  and annoyingly caring girl as his companion for the sake of the universe. She is like a living sonic screwdriver, one with enormous power that could destroy entire cities.

THE KID IN WHITE

Some of the incarnations of the Doctor were old men, so I thought why there could be a child Doctor, looking the cosmos with the joy, curiosity and imagination of a youngling. I just imagined Mouth, from The Goonies, as a new Doctor, a kid that won’t shut up and is a real smartass always getting into trouble. For him traveling in the TARDIS is the greatest game ever, although it is hard to be taken seriously when you look like an albino brat…

He travels with a young couple, recently married and going through hard times, after discovering they can’t have children of their own. Now thanks to the little Doctor they have become the most experienced foster parents of space and time.

THE COOL GIRL

I know a lot of people have imagined their own feminine version of Dr. Who, although I don’t know if there is a reason for that not being ever possible in the series… but anyway, I gave this idea a go. A tall girl that looks like some kind of rockstar, she collects badges and pins (or anything that will do the trick) from every place she visits. Cheerful and with a way with people, this Doctor is a living party.

That’s why she took as travelling partner this teenager girl. Only child from a rich family, she lived a grey and boring routine in a very exclusive boarding school where she had no friends and no sense of fun… until she met the Doctor.

THE SECRET AGENT

Imagine a “Doctor Who 007” and you will understand how this guy is. Always slick and smooth, there’s nothing out there that can impress him. And even if there is, he wouldn’t stop smiling. This Doctor has some serious mechanic skills that he uses to create every kind of gizmos and machines to help him in his quests.

And if he is the mind, his companion is the heart of the team. This sweet girl can touch the Doctor’s soft spot, even to the point of installing her dying cat’s brain in a Dalek robotic shell, or helping a defective Cyberman becoming human again.
